Maintenance Procedure Card (MPC) Developers

Solvere is seeking a candidate for a full-time Maintenance Procedure Card (MPC) Developer.

Position Summary:

We are seeking Maintenance Procedure Card (MPC) Developers to utilize their USCG or US Navy practical engineering experience and technical writing skills to develop Maintenance Procedure Cards (MPCs) for Coast Guard’s Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC).

The purpose of this work is to provide detailed and technically correct MPCs for the Hull, Machinery and electrical (HM&E) equipment on floating Coast Guard assets accordance with USCG procedures, processes, and specifications.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop MPCs to include, drafting, updating, reviewing, correcting and quality control reviews in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Development Process Guide CGTO PG-85-00-230-S by performing the following tasks:

  • Review Maintenance requirements generated by the Reliability Centered Maintenance process and generate new MPCs identified on the approved Maintenance Requirement List (MRL).
  • Develop detailed maintenance procedures for required preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Identify required tools, consumables, expendables, and appropriate cautions and warnings
  • Research various systems for technical and supply data; provide technical recommendations for Technical Publication updates. Translate Original Equipment Manufacturers’ (OEMS) recommended maintenance procedure into Coast Guard format.
  • Review drawings for accuracy; provide technical recommendations for drawing/photo updates.
  • May be required to perform ship visits to validate technical information for inclusion in MPCs or to validate MPCs before publication.
  • Format technical information to align with the approved process and develop clear procedures to conduct required maintenance.
  • Implement changes required in response to field generated maintenance feedback reports
  • Conduct data calls to the fleet.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must have at least 6 years’ experience in field.

  • Must have 6 years practical engineering experience for the operation, test, maintenance and repair of Naval Ship HM&E, Electronic and Weapons Handling Systems and Equipment

  • Must have 2 years’ experience preparing original technical documentation involving the operation, maintenance or testing of Naval Ship HM&E, Electronic and Weapons Handling Systems and Equipment

  • Must have 2 years’ experience developing PMS performed under an active NAVSEA 04 RCM Level I and/or II Certification.

  • Must be able to apply comprehensive knowledge and comprehension of technical drawings, test specifications, reports, naval messages, and equipment operating procedures to technical documentation in a straightforward and easily understood manner.

  • Must be able to follow applicable military specifications and best practices solutions.

  • Must possess excellent communication, writing, grammar, and customer service skills.

  • Must have a strong attention to detail with organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Education:

  • High School Diploma (AA degree preferred)

Certifications Desired:

  • MPC Developer Course

Clearance:

  • Ability to pass a NACI Background Check.

Experience:

  • CGLIMS, SMDP, CG SharePoint.
